An Early Christmas gift

Sunday, November 29th, I was invited to the Livar home. Ramijia Livar,

who died in 2006 of complications of rheumatoid arthritis,

was my best friend in Santa Maria de Jesus.

I am very close to her family, especially her 2 younger children

Marta Alicia and Miguel Angel.

Miguel is 21 years old and a talented artist.

He gave me a surprise gift of a painting he did of our school.

The house of cornstalks, volcano Agua with trees instead of fields and the people celebrating in front of the school are all from the past.
Our school "New Life" is the present and future of Santa Maria, as Miguel explains it.
